Join us for Second Saturday Havdalah this summer – a low-key musical ritual involving spices, fire and songs as we bid adieu to Shabbat and welcome in a new week. This month we will be going back to our summer camp days by playing Color Wars (a fun, outdoor games competition), roasting marshmallows for our s’mores bar and participating in Havdalah led by Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation Rabbinic intern Rachel Silverstein!

NOVA Tribe Series & Moishe House Arlington are teaming up for a night of bowling and bocce at Pinstripes in Georgetown.

Our bowling lanes open at 7:00 pm & bocce lanes open at 7:30 pm but feel free to meet us for happy hour in the bar first, we will be there by 6:15 pm. Some of us will be meeting at Rosslyn metro at 5:45 pm and walking over to Pinstripes (weather permitting) It is $5 per game – please bring cash so we can easily pay per person. We have your shoes covered! Drink specials until 7:00 pm, $10 all you can eat salad/spaghetti & meatballs.

A fun place to check out in NOVA…Top Golf! We will spend the day playing their signature game of hitting golf balls into targets as well as cornhole and mini-golf. Drinks & food are available at each bay and we will have our group move around trying out different activities. Make sure to bring cash for easier payment. We will meet at the entrance at 1PM, look for NOVA Tribe committee members with blue name tags to find us throughout the venue. If you need a ride, email novaribeseries@gmail.com as the location is not metro accessible. Pay as you play – $7 per game and $9 for mini-golf.

Bring your own picnic dinner and blanket – look for the orange and blue balloons to find us. Want bragging rights for best wings in the city? Make the world’s best spiced rum cake or have a great recipe for figs with cinammon spiced goat cheese? Get creative in the kitchen and sign-up for our “spice-y” food contest.

Quincy Park is 3 blocks from Ballston metro. There is parking in the lot next to the library or on adjacent streets.

Start your Sunday off right — put together snack bags for students in a local free/reduced lunch program as follow-up project to our Gatsby Gala, nosh on brunch staples (plus mimosas) and better your baking skills by making hamantaschen for Purim.

NOVA Tribe will organize carpools from various points in NOVA (DC & MD) and will let participants know their assigned driver the week of the event.

We will meet at Northern Virginia Hebrew congregation at 12PM.

 Become a part of the NOVA Tribe Series family as we join with EntryPointDC‘s Shabbat Clusters for a casual family-style Italian Shabbat. We will dine on pasta*, salad, and garlic bread/challah, with Italian gelato for dessert and of course the wine will be flowing as if we were in Rome! Later in the evening we will be breaking out the board games and will see where the night takes us. Feel free to bring any of your favorite games and libations. Space is limited, so register ASAP.
