FAQS

Can only Virginia residents attend your events?

No, our programs are held in Northern Virginia so they are accessible for most people out in the burbs’ but we would love our DC/Maryland friends to cross the river and see what is out there beyond the city (right now  about 50 percent of our participants do not live in VA…surprise!). We are working on the major issue for most — transportation — and hope to have a solution in place soon. In the meantime, most of our programs will be metro accessible.  We are happy to give rides.

Is NOVA Tribe Series just for singles?

We welcome those young adults 22-39 that are single, married, and/or have kids. We are happy to play matchmaker and connect singles to other singles as we did during our speed dating event as well introduce those looking to meet other couples/families.

Where are your programs located?

Based on participants’ city of residence we have decided to hold most of our events in Arlington/Alexandria/Falls Church during the first phase of our program in order to build a member base and because these locations are easily metro accessible. This year, we will be expanding our programming to include Fairfax/Reston/Tysons/Loudon County.

Are you affiliated with a particular Jewish denomination?

No, we welcome Jews of all backgrounds— practicing, non-practicing, those that enjoy Bubbe’s matzo ball soup on occasion, those whose bar mitzvah was voted party of the year,  those that dance a mean horah, those that celebrate Chrismukkah etc.

I am a  A) young professional B) community member C) rabbi D) employee of a Jewish organization E) one cool Jew and I want to contribute my time/ideas/dollars to NOVA Tribe, what should I do?

First pat yourself on the back, your mitzvah points just increased. Second, send us an email at novatribeseries@gmail.com and introduce  yourself…we look forward to working with you.
